A 70s-era Volt-Ohmmeter was refurbished using a PICAXE instead of RTL logic. This shows the finished V-O-M. It was worth the effort in order to re-cycle the excellent meter and the military-quality indicators. The solid oak box is new, as the old one was much the worse for wear. Besides, the nice box adds a psychological justification for the effort.
Some subassemblies could be recycled.
The power supply at the back is separated by a metal sheet.
The meter amplifier is bolted to the meter terminals.
