Screen Reset
The Teensy, is equipped with male headers and is plugged into a solderless breadboard.
The breadboard is glued to the enclosure with the Teensy’s USB connector at the end. It is opposite to a hole in the enclosure for cable access. For programming, a cable is used which has had its red wire severed to prevent 5V from the DC-DC converter from entering the connected computer or hub.
The Teensy and the receiver are always run from the battery and controlled by the Picaxe. The Teensy uses its own regulator to provide 3.3V for itself, the screen, and the BME680.
All connections are made using male jumpers plugged into the breadboard, except for the RTC.
In an initial test the screen was connected to SDI #1 instead of SDI#0. It did not work.
The backlight seems to have a built-in driver. It draws about 32 MA. The Activity page uses the Teensy with the backlight off after a short viewing time, unless the battery is being charged. Recording continues with the backlight off. The viewing time is user-settable in Preferences.
There were no changes from the spring ’23 version.
